This has been discussed recently on the samba-technical mailing list.
Yes, there is a --with-netatalk configure option, and yes there are
functions to handle netatalk files, but no, it does not do anything. The
functions are there, but they are not tied into the samba internals.

No one on samba-technical jumped up and said they would fix this right
away, but maybe someone on this list has the inclination...
