Well now I'm confused. I went back and re-read the original posting from

I think I'll just try it with our current atalk asun2.0.18 (I know, its old)
AND with our asun2.1.4 install

Ok, on BOTH versions I just gave myself a 9 character password and it let me
login AFTER it popped up the warning window about having too many
characters. Goofy.
So I guess its up to the admins to decide whether they want to spend all day
fielding questions about warning windows popping up from users... or just
have them use 8 char passwords. :)
FYI, AppleShare client 3.8.6 on OS 9.0.4
