Well, I'm experiencing the problem using an iMac with MacOS 9.0.4 and
AppleShare Client 3.8.6 - not very old, I think you'll agree - but, just in
case, I had a look for software updates on Apple's web site and didn't find
a newer version.

Ah, right. Thanks! BTW, are the netatalk.conf options described in a man
page somewhere?
