I installed 1.4b2+asun2.1.4 to solve my problems with getting netatalk to
open connections with TCP/IP by default. It worked fine for a day. But now,
I have major problems, and cannot locate the cause of the problem.

All of a sudden, when I view the server in the Network Browser or the
Chooser, it shows one single volume bing shared, with NO NAME, just an icon
(or in the Chooser, a blank item in the list of volumes).

I've checked the obvious stuff:

restarted netatalk with /etc/rc.d/init.d/atalk stop & start
verified that atalkd.conf, afpd.conf, and AppleVolumes.default are ok
restarted the client computer

The only error I see in /var/log/messages is:

Jul 10 05:19:45 microcosm afpd[2443]: dsi_tcp: Can't resolve hostname
(microcosm). 10.1.0.3 on interface eth0 will be used instead.

But this didn't seem to cause any problems the first day this was working.

When I attempt to view shared volumes, this is what gets written to the log:

Jul 10 05:21:07 microcosm PAM_pwdb[2475]: (netatalk) session opened for user
upload by (uid=0)
Jul 10 05:21:07 microcosm afpd[2475]: login upload (uid 502, gid 502)

At this point I see the blank volume. If I double-click it, nothing
happens.

Any suggestions?
