Its a HP 'feature', the MIO and probably others have a rotten lpd
implementation. If the printer is busy, it wont talk, making lpq hang.
Causes all sorts of head aches with Samba/windows. Windows 95 at least
locks up while waiting for samba to return the job status which is
waiting for the JetDirect. I always use HP's printer drivers now, they
make a
TCP connection to another port, and the driver behind that is
multi-threaded. I know people use LPRNG to talk directly to this port on
HPs with out HPs drivers.
