There are just too many possibilities to examine... I suppose
there's somebody taking care of the network.

I'm not sure how DDP handles data corruption.

This doesn't mean that you're using DDP for transport. You can
check that by looking at the output from netstat or by using lsof
(or fuser).

Yes. Though I'm not sure if tcp/ip is included with the base
version (check it out in the Control Folder). There are tcp/ip
options (Apple Share Client and Open Transport) available for
download from Apple's site. Be sure to read release notes. As
for netatalk, it should be available by default. Again, check
with netstat if afpd is listening on port 548.
