Subject: RE: Where to get Linux version?

That's right, it points you to the asun/release directory where you can pick
up the latest release, which doesn't compile on RedHat 6.1. I'm not alone
in having this problem. I was advised to get the latest testing release
(which is the link I provided) by another poor suffering soul after posting
a desperate question to this list, as it's not mentioned in any
documentation (not surprisingly).
I have been unable to get even the latest testing release to work properly,
and I've read all the faqs I can find. I have successfully compiled,
installed, and configured a huge amount of experimental stuff on my various
systems, and this is the only time that I've ever been completely stumped.
I'm still hoping that someone can help out and offer a nugget of wisdom
which magically solve all my problems, but in the meantime, it's not worth
the effort when there are other solutions which are obviously being far more
actively maintained.
Cheers,
Alex.
