We had a similar problem with Macs dropping connections to a netatalk
box (Slackware 4.0, kernel 2.0.37)... we updated the Appleshare client
on the Mac and it seemed to fix the majority of the problems. It still
drops every now and then, but not near as bad as it was before. I think
we updated to AppleShare 3.8.3 on the 7.6.1 machines. I'm almost
positive their is an AppleShare update for OS 8.6 (AppleShare 3.9.2 or
something)
