I have the similar problem.
My atalkd.conf contains:
eth0 -seed -phase 2 ; this is the internal network
eth1 -phase 2 ; this is the WAN/DSL connection
This turns into:
eth0 -seed -phase 2 -net 65280-65534 -addr 65280.148
eth1 -seed -phase 2 -net 65280-65534 -addr 65280.74
Here's what my log shows:

Yet, the server doesn't show up in the chooser at all, yet I can access it
via TCP.
If I don't enter ANYTHING in atalkd.conf, I get this upon restart:
nbp_rgstr: Connection timed out
Can't register hzink:Workstation@*
nbp_rgstr: Connection timed out
Can't register hzink:netatalk@*
and my log shows:

Yet, now "Gateway" shows up in the chooser, but is still not accessible (TCP
works, though).
This is frustrating. Any help is appreciated.
