This happens when whe Program on the Mac "locks" a file. I get this messages while working with Excel 3.0, too. Not harmful.

Normal user login. Not harmful.

This is usually when a Mac crashed or network connectivity to this particular Mac is lost. Harmless for the Unix box. Maybe for the Mac not ;-)

I get this when copying many Files. Harmless, I think.

After copying a file with BNDL-Resource and Icons (usually applications), afpd could not update the desktop database. IMO harmless.

Dunno. What's this?

I think your problems are related to CRFL-Translations...

When you copy a file from Mac to netatalk, netatalk knows it's type and switches properly between ascii and binary mode.
When you create a file on your netatalk box from unix side, it's default filetype is TEXT. As such, when copied it's considered as TEXT and all LF will be replaced by CR, as the Mac likes it.
The safest way to get around this is, recompile afpd after disabling -DCRLF in etc/afpd/Makefile.

:wq! PoC
