About Us > Committee Info

The Powwow Committee is made up of University of Michigan students, staff, faculty, and community members who work together throughout the academic year to plan and organize the powwow. Each year, planning begins in the spring immediately following the powwow.

We invite everyone interested in working on the Powwow to contact us. The committee is broken up into sub-committees that each work on specific parts of the event. Our sub-committees are: fundraising and budget, volunteers, publicity, admissions, hospitality, headstaff and drums, dancer registration, merchandise, and vendors. Over the past two years we have developed relationships with multiple University of Michigan departments and offices, who are connected to a committee to provide support and assistance for a committee needs. Each of these sub-committees contributes to the overall success of the event.

We hope you will enjoy this year's "Dance for Mother Earth" Powwow.
