For our project we plan to compare the broad jump using arms vs. without using arms. The question we plan to answer is "How does the trunk compensate for the propulsive arm movement during the armless broad jump?" This is interesting to us because many times arm movement gives an athlete added momentum during competition. Also, athletes/persons without arms must rely on other compensating movements from the trunk and hip regions to make up for it.
