ECHOMATICA
Multi-tap drum echo for MOD Desktop and PiStomp
A Windows, Linux & Raspberry Pi Compatible LV2 Plug-in
Echomatica is an LV2 plugin for MOD Desktop (Win, Linux), the MOD Dwarf(soon), and the Tree Fall Sound PiStomp multi-effects units.

Made to emulate the Italian multi-tap magnetic tape and drum delays designed by Societa Elletronica Palomba (SEP) sold under the brands Meazzi, Framez, and Vox in the late 50's and early 60's.

  • Echomatic 1 'Framez' badged five-head drum delay
  • Echomatic 1 'Jennings' badged six-head drum
  • Echomatic 2 four-head drum delay
  • Meazzi PA 304 five-head tape delay

Every effort was made to reproduce the timings, head options, and tonal qualities. However, there was little consistent information available due to the rarity of these devices. There was also evidence that some units were customized at the factory. So I resolved any contradictions in favor of whatever sounded most like the settings used by Hank Marvin of the Shadows since he is easily the most famous user of the Echomatics.
