I Have Unshakable Faith in Master Li

Hello Everyone. My name is George Brian Howes. This is my story. Next week is my birthday; on the 5th of May, I will be 62 years old. I am self-employed running my own business.

In October 1997 I experienced bad pains in my lower abdomen, I found it very hard and very painful even to walk up stairs. However I was very busy with my business so it was not until December that I visited the doctor. The doctor thought it was very possible that I was suffering from cancer.

During 1998 I had very many tests. On the 31st of May the specialist told me that I had a cancerous tumour and that it was very aggressive and serious. I had left it too late to have an operation and he wanted me to have radiotherapy treatment. But I refused. I believed it would be possible to find a less invasive/damaging treatment.

I tried massage therapy, Traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese herbs. (But it was not a cure). Then my son gave me a book on Tai Chi. I then bought very many books on Qi Gong.

In October 1998 my illness became much more serious and I was unable to carry on with my business. I believed perhaps that a Qi Gong master might be able to cure my cancer. On the 22nd of October I went to Darling Harbour Chinese Gardens to meet with a Qi Gong master. But he didn't come.

I was taken to another side of the park where a group of people were practising some exercises, they said it was called FALUN GONG. They were very friendly. They gave me an introduction to the Falun Gong books -"Zhuan Falun" and "China Falun Gong".

In late November 1998 I started to practise Falun Gong. Everyday I would try to cultivate or practice a little. I would also watch the Master's "Teaching Gong" and his "Explaining The Law" video tapes.

At present I have been a practitioner for five months. I am feeling really good. I simply don't have any thoughts about cancer.

Now it is so hard to believe that last year I had so much pain just climbing up stairs. After five months of cultivating and practicing Falun Gong, I am now preparing to resume running my business.

Although I am a novice practitioner the changes and feelings I have experienced have confirmed my un-shakable faith in Master Li Hongzhi.

I do hope that my story will help many people gain confidence.
