1971 -Ampex’s ADR-150 is released as the first high speed duplication system for color and monochrome videotapes in Ann Arbor, MI. Its first uses are for duplicating educational videotapes.
1972 -Sony release the U-Matic VCR that used cassette tapes, not a reel to reel tape system.
