Assignment 3 Extra Help / Resources
This is the extra help / resources page for lab assignment 3.
Help / Assistance
A bunch of great Scratch documentation is under "Ideas" on the Scratch Web site.
Need more help beyond the documentation? Try the Help With Scripts Forum on the Scratch Web site.
New: A developer diary of thoughts written by a GSI while creating a game for Part C.
Inspirational Scratch Projects
These are elaborate projects but they show you what can be done with the language.
- YOU CANNOT WIN
- Chess (genuine computer opponent)
- Theme Park God
- Paper Minecraft
- Scratch Virtual Assistant
- See also Scratcharia by the same author (this is a multiplayer Terraria -- note multiplayer will not work yet as you are a new scratcher)
Model student project from a prior year (Part C):
Errata: Record Project Video
At the end of the assignment the prompt states that you can gain extra credit by making a "highlight reel" using Scratch's "Record Project Video" function. This function has been discontinued by Scratch because operating systems now feature built-in screen recorders. You can receive this extra credit by using a built-in screen recorder.
We are increasing the extra credit for this to +3% as it is slightly more work.
Screen recorder options:
- Windows: Game Bar Screen Recorder
- Mac: Shift-Command-5 opens the built-in screen recorder.
- Or use a third-party screen recorder like Screencast-O-Matic (which we use in lecture).
Help Your Classmates
