Our team will be leaving for Hungary on Tuesday, July 27 and returning to the U.S. on Tuesday, August 17. (Check out the website!) During our first week in Hungary we
will be praying over the city of Budapest and the Island where the music festival will be held and preparing the music and dramas we will be doing during the festival. August 4 - 11 we will be at the
Pepsi Island festival, communicating the Gospel through various mediums. August 12-13 we will be doing follow-up. August 13 we fly to London where we will debrief before returning to the U.S. on
August 17.Please Pray:
- For Each Team Member. Pray that each of us will remain healthy during the trip and that each of us would have the fruit of the Holy Spirit evident in our lives and the gifts of the Holy Spirit
flowing through us. Pray also that we will operate in unity as a team.
- That God will Order Our Steps. Although we have a tentative plan for our ministry in Hungary, we want to sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. We also need to be flexible according
to the wishes of the national church and the foreign missionary we will be working with in Hungary. For Christ's Vision and Compassion. We want to see the harvest as Jesus' sees it and we want
the same compassion He has for the lost.
- For Wisdom and Grace for Communicating Cross-Culturally. Most of the youth of Eastern Europe have a preconception that God either doesn't exist, or if He does, He is irrelevant to their
lives. We need supernatural wisdom to be able to break through their preconceptions and through the cultural and language barriers in order to communicate Christ to them in a simple and
meaningful way.
- For Supernatural Faith and Power. We want to believe God for the supernatural. He has given us all authority and has promised that supernatural signs would follow the preaching of
the Gospel. Pray that we will have faith to step out in His power as he directs us. Against the Attack of the Enemy. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world...." (Eph. 6:12). Pray specifically against sickness, disunity, distraction, fear and intimidation.
Update From Cathy Hall (8/1/99) Hello! I'm Cathy Hall, a student in EMU's Chi Alpha and the person in charge of forwarding all of
the Hungary/Pepsi Island team's prayer requests to you. The only word we've gotten from them so far is, "we made it." However, before they left they strongly urged all of us to pray
earnestly and continually for them and their outreach. Many of them were facing opposition even in the weeks prior to their departure. I ask that you pray that they would have all the access to
communication within the country, on the island, and with us that they would need or want. Communication is a key element in any war, including this spiritual battle. I've experienced lots of strange
problems just in getting this distribution list up and running, and it wouldn't surprise me that they've had similar experiences. Please pray also for understanding and a good relationship with the
local Hungarian church, the missionaries, and the sponsers of the Pepsi Island event. These will be the people who determine how much freedom the team will have to move according to the Spirit's
leading. We want to see God's will accomplished, not man's! A big thank you to all of you who are supporting, protecting, and fueling God's work in Hungary with your prayers and
intercession. May the mighty name of Jesus be glorified! All for Him, Cathy Update From The Team (8/3/99)
Hello From Budapest!! Thank you all for praying....we
can feel them!! Here are some testimonies and prayer requests from each person on the team:Hello Everyone- God is surely moving! Not just in us but in Europe!!! God is touching this
nation. How do we know? We can see it in their lives. There is one thing I could use prayer for and that is for healing in my back. I have been having problems with it. I think it is
because of the beds. So, keep praying and thanks for being faithful. God Bless, Mike Greetings All. God is so GOOD!
Quick praise report. The first 4 days I had problems with my knees and stomach but praise God He has healed me! As for a prayer request.....pray that if we do the dramas they will go well
and that our practices will be productive. Pray also that I will be able to sleep through the night. Miss you all.God Bless, Vicki Szia! Hogy Vagy? Koszonom, jol. I'm doing great, praise Jesus. I'm loving the language and looking forward to the island outreach. Thank you
for all your prayers.....they are keeping us up. Prayer request: that headaches would vanish!Love, Yvette Hi Everyone!
Thank you for your prayers. We can feel them. We've been having great times of prayer and worship in preparation for the festival which starts on Wednesday. God is good! Pray for me
that I will have spiritual insight to see people as God sees them, boldness to speak to people (no intimidation) and physical stamina.Love, Tina Hello. We are looking forward to the outreach. Pray for wisdom and insight in sharing with people. Also, pray that we will know how to serve the
Hungarians who are leading the outreach. Personally, pray for my sinuses. They started acting up today.Leon Hello. Budapest
is quite an experience, a challeging and good one. Pray for perserverence and great faith. Thank you guys so much for praying.Alero Jo Napot!---Good day to all of you! The Lord is doing wonderful things here Bless His Holy Name. Our times of prayer and worship have been very powerful.
We even had a chance to worship on the island for several hours. Please pray that the doors of heaven stay open......that the Lord will set limits on the devils schemes, and for me personally
that the Lord would give me the same love for those participating in the festival as He has towards the Prodical Son. Thank you for your faithfulness! ******Happy Birthday, Katherine Krage*******
Love, Sarah General team requests: Unity with one another and with the Hungarians we'll be ministering with on the
Island. (All together there are about 40 of us.) Our ministry on the Tea Bus. The Hungarian christians have an old bus they have converted to a hang-out where people on the Island can come
for conversation and tea. We have to be very careful about what we say on the bus because the Pepsi Island officials don't want us "pushing Jesus" on people. We can only talk about
Jesus if we're asked questions. Then we can share information and share from personal experience. Therefore, we need to be as wise as serpents and gentle as doves. (Island officials
will be checking up on us in disguise.)Please pray for my health. My ribs are still healing. Also, I am having strange allergic reactions to bug bites. Also, pray for divine wisdom and
insight and understanding of God's ways. Lastly, pray for my sleep. Belkis
Update From Cathy Hall (8/4/99) Prayer partners, I
finally got word from Belkis, but she didn't say much. She sent me another quickie asking me to forward this message and ask you to send any words or scriptures that you have for them to me and
that I could forward them every 4 to 5 days. She didn't want to bog down the missionary with e-mails. That's all she said, no prayer requests or updates. I take it that they don't have much
contact with this missionary, or other access to e-mail. I was reading in Exodus last night (about the great exodus) and it amazed me to think of the great lengths that God went through to honor His
name and prove not only to the Egyptians, but to the Israelites as well, that He alone is Lord. Each of the plagues was a direct blow to the gods of the Egyptians, and they showed the distinction
between the people of God and those who followed false gods. I encourage you to pray BIG prayers for this missions trip. Pray that God would honor His name on Pepsi Island. Pray that He would
make the distiction clear between those that follow Him and those that don't. Pray that their false gods would be proven dead and that He would be proven alive! Pray that many lost souls would
choose to forsake their gods and follow the one true God. Most importantly, be Holy Spirit led in your prayers and intercession. And if He gives you any insights please let the rest of us
know :) All for Him, Cathy Update from Yvette (8/5/99) Hi Everyone. Praise Jesus! He is doing great things here. There are about 250 thousand people here at
the festival. the music is loud, there are a lot of drugged people and Jesus longs for them. one can not really sleep because the music goes on through the night. I love the hungary team, they have been
friendly to us americans. i have become good friends with a translator named evelyn. the language is so hard, but i am picking it up quite quickly. God has helped me to learn it:) i also got to paint 2 huge
signs in front of our ministry areas on the island (graffiti style...that's way popular here). Last night was so wonderful though. I got to talk to 3 guys: Nick from Budapest, Peter from Germany and Chabo
from Budpest). Pray for these guys. The Lord has set me free from fear...I was scared because I knew there weren't many black people, but the Lord has used it for his purpose.I have met wonderful
people...definitely would come here again. well, i gotta run, but please please keep us in your prayers. Right now, we are all in different teams. I don't see Alero too much anymore, but I know that God is
doing great things in her life as well. Hey, she's with Belkis so you know she's witnessing. Please pray specifically for:
- Direction concerning our outreach
- That God would use me to share the love of Jesus as I draw their portraits.
- For our leaders
- Unity among all the believers
- The tea bus ministry
- The talks that will be given at our camp site
love in Christ, Yvette Update from Belkis Lehmann (8/6/99) Greetings from Hungary. This is our third day in the festival. We are having good ministry opportunities. God is opening people up. Please
continue to pray for more open hearts. For better and better working relationship with the Hungarian national believers. We are very tired. We are taking turns spending the night on the
island. This is good because it gives us great ministry opportunities because it is at night when people are around more. But the music is playing all night long. Very hard to
sleep. Pray for Belkis health especially. Her back is giving her a lot of trouble. Also pray for Yvette, she has many headaches. Pray against the demonic oppression here. It is very hard to
pray on the island because of it. We are very excited that God is answering prayers even though sometimes we feel like they are not being
heard...but we know that God hears all of our prayers and we are thankful that He reminds us of this as we see them being answered! We heard the Lord tell us to get instruments and bring them to the
island. The Lord said that He would use them to attract people to us...And He IS!! These past two days, we have seen many come by and have had many opportunities to talk to them about the Lord.
Also the Lord is using baseball...playing catch to bering people to us because it is a rarity! Also we have been making beaded necklaces and braclets for fun and it draws people as well,...
Thank you for ALL of your prayers! We love you and are praying for you as well! The Team......please do not forget to pray for our newcomers....Carrie, Jeff, Julie, and Julie F. They are
additions from Arizona, and Boston College. Update from Cathy Hall and Sarah Krage (8/8/99) Yea! More news from Hungary!! Belkis says things are going well, but it is hard for
them to pray there. I was reading some great stuff in 2 Samuel 22 this morning. Pray for the team that God would be their "strength and power" and for the people listed below that they
would see and proclaim with their own lips and hearts "Who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?" (vs.32&33) Tuesday will be their last day of ministry on the
island, but please press on in prayer after that. They still need our covering to press on in triumph over the enemy. Thanks!!!All for Him, Cathy
---------- Forwarded message ----------Date: Sun, 08 Aug 1999 15:24:49 -0400 (EDT) From: "SARAH E. KRAGE" Hello prayers!!
Thank you so much for your prayers, expecially now as we are on the island and feling much more spiritual battles than before. We have names that we would like you to pray for , names of people that we
have talked to and would like God to continue working in their lives. But First I would like to tell you a praise report. Yesturday, as Belkis and I were playing the guitar and drums infront of
the Bus, many from the island came and sat around us on the benches. They joined us in playing the various instruments, but after a while they wanted to learn a song in English. Belkis chose a great
one, "Great Big God"..So we had a translator tell them what they were saying, and then taught them the words in english...So there we were with a bunch of Hungarians, at least 7 singing,
"Great big God, little bitty devil, I sing my praise to a Great big God....." The best part was teh last part of the song..."only one name above every other name, only one name,
JESUS!" Now they knew what they were saying because of the translator, and Belkis told them they had to yell the last word, JESUS! So there we were yelling the name of Jesus, declaring His
name over the island, it was incredible! Most of our worship is just a form of intercession but God is using ti to attract others, and opening up conversations with people to tell them about Christ.
These are the names of people to pray for....
- TiBi - knows little english, but I had a conversation with him for 2 hours. he is into trance and meditation..needs Jesus
- Christina - from Rochester Michigan, here as a foreign exchange student. she realizes she needs to go to church, but more importantly she needs a relationship with Jesus...friends are mainly Jewish.
- Tibon - He is disallusioned with Christianity. he canat understand why there are so many different Christian churches. Pray that he will be able to get past the stumbling blocks and come
to faith.
- BP (nickname) - has no care for God in his life..needs a revelaition like that of Paul on the road to damascus!
- Thomas - he has bizarre ideas about who God is. He needs a revelation of the truth. He is into music ad philosophy.
- Lutheran Guy (I forgot his name) - He is religious goes to church, but does not seem to really know Jesus. Seemed very sad.
- Andre - emotional healing. (parents) hatred for his country, a wanderer so he needs protection. The Bible would come alive for him.
- Disabled man - healing, he has a problmem with his blood vessels, no legs.
- Martin, Neal, Sunder - Jesus would reveal Himself as the only Truth, the only way, and also that He shows them His love.
- Gabriel - spiritual healing. strength to stand for Christ. Give Him a spirit of forgiveness so he can overlook the weaknesses of the church and put His faith in Jesus
- Allen - He is searching to find himself. Pray that he will find himself in Jesus! Pray that God's love will pour over him.
- Heidi - Loves america and wants to know more and meet people-pray for our witness to her throughout the rest of this week.
- Crystal - we only had 1O minutes to talk to her and barely planted a seed..pray that God would use it, and bring more people to her to tell of Jesus.
- Jolte - depressed, lonely, lost...needs Jesus!
- Evelyn - Austrian who needs healing and Jesus
- Gunnie - needs Jesus..was able to pray for her, but she needs to know God as her Father.
- Beep and Rael - very open, need to believe, revelation
- Bekle - demonized, tried to commit suicide several times
- John - Angolian needs the Lord
- Mel - German, very lost
- Pray for the punks, anarchist, Hari Krishnas (who are supported by the government), Jews, fortune tellers, Tibetian types, and all those dwelling in immorality...
- Jonas (John) - He turned to martial arts as a means of dealing with being harassed in a very rough school. Pray that his confidence int he martial arts would be broken down so that he can find
hope in Jesus. Akos-He is a member of the Romanian press here. He has seen much evil around him He needs Jesus.
- Eidabruk - passsed our from beer--Needs Jesus!
- GorDon - a man from Florida who I met on the plane going back to his home land, Ugoslavia..Needs Jesus, and has only seen hypocrasy in the church and Nazi-loving churches in his home town when he was
a boy.
Not to make this any longer, but the big thing on this island is Rebellion. Pray that these young people would encouter the Fear of the Lord. They have no fear.. And as I read this
morning.."A fool has said in his heart there is no God" and taht is what they have said. Thanks once again for praying. God is MOVING. It is just difficult to plant seeds. So often we want
to harvest, but we are tilling soil and planting seeds. WE trust God to continue the work that He has started. WEll I must Go... Thanks for yours prayers. The team
Update from Cathy Hall and Belkis (8/10/99)
One more week!! The team's time on the island is done, but they will be in Hungary for a few more days. Then they'll head off to
London to process all that happened and get soaked in the presence of God at Holy Trinity- Brompton. I don't know about you, but the devil's been rearing his ugly head at me lately. That just makes
me pray more and go after God even harder! So, if you feel like he won't get out of your face, just get back in his -- he has no choice but to turn tail and FLEE!! If you haven't yet, I suggest
printing out the list of contacts that the team sent us and praying over it for the next month or so. This is a valuable resource. God has His finger on these lives, aren't you glad He had His finger
on yours? Thanks for your faithfullness. All for Him, Cathy ---------- Forwarded message ----------Date: Tue, 10 Aug 1999 07:10:36 -0700 (PDT)

Eastern Europe just forwarded this to me. It definitely affects our team as well. ---------- Forwarded message ----------
To: prayer-list@gospelcom.net Date: Tue, 10 Aug 1999 10:27:02 -0400 (EDT) Dear Prayer Warriors for the Ministry to Eastern Europe,
Greetings from Hungary in His gracious name. I want to alert you to one of the most significant spiritual events of the year that will occur on Wednesday, August 11, in this part of the world. The first
total eclipse in over 75 years will begin around noon on August 11 and last for about three hours. Hundreds and thousands of cult members, occultists, drug addicts, witches, warlocks and others are coming to
Hungary in particular to worship the Queen of Heaven and to call upon her (demonic) power to take a great hold upon the earth. Many pagans, cult and occult groups will perform religious rituals to empower
the Queen of Heaven through their covenants and spiritual worship. And Eastern Europe is one of the primary spiritual strongholds of the Queen of Heaven. They will attempt to unleash enormous spiritual power
to accomplish their demonic will now and in the future. This will be an intense time of spiritual battling here and in 16 other nations in Europe. It is no accident that our mission is hosting its Annual
Family/Workers Conference in the same area where thousands are gathered and will gether to worship the spiritual alignment of the sun, moon and earth. We will literally be surrounded by many such groups and
individuals in hopes of receiving spiritual power from the Queen of Heaven. We need your prayers! We would ask that you pray for a spiritual hedge of protection, especially around the 30+ children that
will be with us. Pray that the Lord will anoint us with a special measure of power to worship and celebrate His presence. And ask Him to help us to be sensitive in the spirit as to how we can battle the
powers of darkness and liberate the pagan worshippers during the total eclipse. Much of the acual worship will begin today, Tuesday, August 10, so ask the Lord to anoint us from now throughout our entire
conference. Since arriving here on July 8, I have sensed in my spirit much evil spiritual activity so ask Him to sensitize us to His presence and to be a great source of divine worship, sending forth praise
to bring down the spiritual strongholds around Szepalma where we will be gathered. Thank you for standing in the gap with, and for us. Blessings to you, Dr, John F. McGeorge, Jr.
Founder and President, Ministry to Eastern Europe Update from Cathy Hall (8/17/99) Hello prayer partners! The team's coming home tomorrow! It'll be great to see them
all again and hear all of their praise reports and stories. Please don't quit praying for them just because the trip is over. They'll be exhausted and weary from the fight, a prime time for the
enemy to jump all over their backs in retalliation for all the battles that they've won. Give God much glory for the victories, but remember that the spiritual war is not over. They will need much
support from us. Let your prayers be a shield over them and a hedge of protection around them. Pray for safe travel back home, great sleep in the coming weeks, ease of re-entry into their lives
here, intimate and refreshing times with the Lord, blessing upon their relationships with others, and a continued, even intensified, fire and zeal for their King and Master. Keep praying over the list
of names that were sent to us and the rest of the work that God did through them, that the seeds would grow and be nourished and that His call in lives would be sealed. Thanks again for all of your
faithful service to this team and the work of our Lord! May God richly bless all of you.All for Him, Cathy |
