TIPS TO IMPROVE YOUR BRIDGE GAME
AND TO MAKE BRIDGE MORE ENJOYABLE
-
Pick up your cards as dealt. You will then be ready to get
your bid in before the others.
-
If your hand is poor, mention it. It will guide your partner
in his bidding and play.
-
Never hurry. Try several cards on a trick until you are sure
of which one you prefer.
-
Occasionally ask what is trump. It shows interest in the
game.
-
Walk around the table when you are dummy. Then you can tell
your partner how many tricks he could have made.
-
Don't show lack of interest. Help your partner out with
frequent suggestions.
-
Talk about other subjects during the game. It makes for good
fellowship.
-
Feel free to criticize your partner. He will do much better
as a result.
-
Always trump your partner's trick. Never take a chance.
-
Don't try to remember the rules. It's too confusing.
-
If it is a money game, always stop when you are ahead. It
will leave a lasting impression and folks will always
remember you.
-
Disagree with established rules and conventions. People
will see you as a person of independent mind.
-
Eat chocolate caramels or other adhesive candy while
playing. It keeps the cards from skidding.
