A number of non-profit servces have been developed to help individuals, groups and associations representing Michigan business, institutions and governments understand how their communications can be improved through good graphic design. These services included:

GRAPHIC DESIGN COUNSELING

This service consists of a confidential session between the GDAP professional design staff and key administration and personnel of qualifying companies and organizations. Communication needs, problems and opportunities are reviewed and evaluated, and recommendations and a report concerning their planning or improvement are made. The actual design or redesign of communications is not provided although guidance is given regarding the selection and use of qualified professional graphic design assistance. Mileage reimbursement for GDAP counselors is required. Applications are available from Design Michigan. 

GRAPHIC DESIGN SEMINARS

Seminars and counseling clinics can be scheduled by groups, organizations and agencies representing Michigan business, industry, institutions and governments. Travel expense reimbursements and honoraria for some resource professionals may be required and will vary according to program.

SLIDE AND LECTURE PRESENTATIONS

Presentations by the GDAP Speakers Bureau on the nature and benefits of graphic design for Michigan business, industry, institutions and governments can be scheduled for the meeting and conferences of Michigan groups, organizations and agencies. The synchronized, 22-minute audio-visual show, "Graphic Design Equals Effective Communication," was developed specially for business and organizational group meeting and conferences. Travel reimbursement for presenters is required.

GRAPHIC DESIGN INFORMATION

Graphic Design Information is available through the Design Michigan hotline (810) 645-3554, GDAP informational publications, guides and directories, and printed and audiovisual materials located at the public Reference Library of the Design Michigan Resource Center on the Cranbrook Art Academy campus in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. There is a nominal fee for certain publications.
