Graduate Student Research Assistant (RA)
Students with strong academic background and interest in computational mechanics are encouraged to apply for a graduate research position  in the group.

Prospective students can apply for MS/PhD program in the aerospace engineering department either in the winter term (deadline: November 1) or the fall term (deadline: January 15). Once you send your application, email me at veeras@umich.edu so that I can go through your application package and give you consideration.

For pursuing research in my lab, basic requirements include working knowledge of finite element analysis, programming skills and a good mechanics background. You may need to learn parallel computing and take graduate level courses in advanced solid mechanics, mechanical behavior of materials and atomistic modelling (molecular dynamics, statistical mechanics, ab-initio (DFT) calculations) once you join the group.
