A great number of Black Student Organizations have taken the lead as a means to inform and seek feedback from Black Students on this campus who are curious as to how THEY, as individuals can help.

    As individuals we each have our own ways in which we can address our concerns. As individuals we can subjectively compare our expectations to the unexpected realities of this institution. However, what must be emphasized most is that as individuals - united through our experiences, aspirations, and beliefs - we are influential and essential members of the BLACK COMMUNITY at the University of Michigan.

    As a collective body, comprised of opinionated individuals driven by similar value systems and fundamental principles, It is time we returned to the basics.

    Before a legal verdict can be reached, before an administrative policy can be ameliorated, before the University experiences the largest Black Student Movement in its history - Each and Every one of us must ask ourselves this question:
