Q & A - About Gymnastics and U-M

Why do you like doing gymnastics?   Because it's fun and I loved going upside down.
What is your favorite event or routine? Why?   Bars, because I enjoy it and have learned the most on this event.

What attracted you to the University of Michigan?   The combination of great academics and gymnastics. As well as the team unity.
What has been your most memorable gymnastics moment at Michigan?   First meet back from Acl surgery and singing The Victors after winning big tens.

What has been your biggest challenge/obstacle in gym or college (or both)? How did your overcome this challenge?   Getting hurt was my biggest obstacle. I hadn’t had more than 2 weeks off from training and then after the injury I had to sit out for 6 months. Our trainer Lisa helped me overcome this as well as all of the team and support I received from them.
What has been your most embarrassing moment in the gym (ever)?
What goes through your head immediately before a routine?   You know how, one piece/skill at a time. Confidence.

What advice would you share with up-and-coming Michigan gymnasts?   Don’t let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do. If you want it bad enough you will find a way to make it happen. Also remember to have fun with it!
What is your favorite part of the gym meets?   Being able to show off your routines and represent Michigan
Other than Michigan, where is your favorite place to compete and why?   Home meets are the best but I also enjoy competing at UCLA because most of my family can come watch me and cheer me on.

What’s the best way to show your Michigan spirit?
