Favorite Memory   Meeting with the UM Board of Trustees to speak to them about the Title IX ruling and how it applied to woman's gymnastics. In 1974 and 1975 I helped start a UM woman's gymnastics club and we had several meets every year. But we had no gym and no funding (we set up the equipment daily and tumbled with the men). We got funding for the team because of Title IX in 1976. We had a new gym and three coaches. I received a scholarship for my junior and senior year.
Current Haps:
(updated '04)
I coached gymnastics for a number of years at MIT (division II) and received an MS at MIT. Then a Ph.D. in clinical Psychology at Northwestern. I am a practicing psychologist, professor, and researcher at UIC-Chicago. I believe that gymnastics has shaped my life and continues to influence my thinking, interests, and even my professional presentations!
