Q & A - About Gymnastics and U-M

At what age did you start gymnastics?   2
How did you become involved in gymnastics?   My mom signed me up for a mom & me program
What is your favorite event? Why?   Bars. It was always the hardest event for me when I was younger and then it became one of my better ones.

What attracted you to the University of Michigan?   The combination of great academics and a great gymnastics team. Also, I felt like I fit in with the team well on my recruiting trip. I loved the way everyone on the team was close friends.
What is it like competing for U-M?   It’s exciting to get to compete for a school with such a high athletic reputation. There is a lot of pride in the block M.
What has been your most memorable (gymnastics) moment at U-M?   Finishing third at the NCAA Championship in 2001 and competing in the Super 6.
What has been your most memorable (non-gymnastics) moment at U-M?   Getting to be announced and walk across the field before a football game.

What inspires you to keep going after a disappointing meet or a tough week of practice?   Make sure you work hard and put in a good effort, and make sure you’re having fun.
What advice would you share with up-and-coming gymnasts who aspire to be like you or one of your teammates?   After a tough meet or practice, knowing what different corrections or changes I can make will motivate me to get right back in there and try again.
