Raven
Like the crow, the raven is a generally negative symbol, although appearing
occasionally in the Bible as a wise messenger. It is a "talking bird, hence
prophecy" (Cooper, 137), and is often a companion to the dead. Jungian
psychology defines the raven a the dark side of the psyche.
