Description |
The Definition module is intended to accompany the text Strategies for Creative Problem Solving by H. Scott Fogler and Steven E. LeBlanc. This module starts with the introduction of a scenario which will be used throughout the module. Three different techniques are introduced, namely Finding out where the problem came from, the Explore Phase and the Statement-Restatement Technique. There will be an exercise at the end of the module to test the student's understanding of the subject.
Students should click on each button in the main menu from top to down, starting with Introduction and then follow instructions that appear on each of the pages. After completing the example exercise, students should attempt at least 2 of the exercises to complete the module. |
Grade Base | 80% completion is necessary to achieve mastery of this module. 70% of the grade is weighted towards the review of the subject while the other 30% rests on the sample exercise and exercises. |
Comments | This module is a great tool for establishing a good understanding of how the definition process work regardless of if it is engineering related or not. If students have completed certain sections of the module, such as, the introduction or the review, they will have the opportunity to enter in their performance number to continue from where they left off and not lose their accumulated module points. |
