Grikor Mirzaian Suni "composed some of the sweetest lyric pieces in the realm of Armenian music."

This 72 ½ minute CD has 30 songs: folk song arrangements, songs in the folk tradition, and original compositions. Some may be considered European art songs, richly saturated in folk color, belonging in fact to the world of lieder. The 44-page CD book shows each song’s text with the Armenian, transliteration, and English translation side by side so you can sing along. Biographies, maps, Armenian alphabet chart with both Eastern and Western Armenian transliterations, and a selected glossary are also included, with everything in both English and Armenian.
Specially featured on the CD is the voice of Gourgen (George) Suny, son of the composer, who sang for this recording on his 84th birthday.

The Suni Project: Music Preservation, nonprofit and tax exempt, received support for this CD from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affiars (MCACA), the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU), the Welfund, and private donors.
