Pi Tau Sigma

Pi Tau Sigma (PTS) is the National Mechanical Engineering Honor Society and is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies. There are chapters at universities in almost every state of the United States. The concept of Pi Tau Sigma was initiated simultaneously at the University of Illinois and the University of Wisconsin in 1915. Pi Tau Sigma was formed in 1916 by these two schools. Purdue University and the University of Minnesota were chartered in 1922, and growth has continued since then.

Pi-Rho Chapter

The Pi-Rho chapter was inducted in 1948 and is made up of the top Mechanical Engineers at the University of Michigan. We are active within the Mechanical Engineering community, organizing department activities such as the annual Halloween Bash and Pancake Breakfast as well as professional events such as information sessions with our corporate sponsors. We also serve our community through volunteer events at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, Nichol's Arboretum, and with WISO Science Olympiad.
