Scanning in Solution

The experiments presented here avoided the added complication of water by using dry samples to resolve issues associated with NSOM methodology.  Current efforts focus on developing the capability to scan samples under water with the ability to exchange solutions to change temperature, pH, or add factors such as ATP with minimum interference with tip dynamics.
