The Dahlmann Campus Inn (walking distance to workshop site, 335 West Hall)
Rooms are being held with the Dahlmann Campus Inn hotel for participants May 2-5, 2007. When making your reservation you need to reference to "UM Physics group # 7687". Please call 1-800-666-8693 or (734) 769-2224 to make your own reservation or contact the workshop secretary with your details to arrange this for you.

Single rate: $145/night, Double rate: $168/night. Room block will be released to the public on April 16th, 2007 so please be sure to have your reservation by then!

Travel Information

Airport Information:

Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW, aka Metro-Wayne County) is the closest airport servicing all major airline carriers domestically and internationally. It is located approximately 25 miles east of Ann Arbor. It has non-stop flights from a number of international cities in Europe and Asia. The airport is about 25 miles from Ann Arbor and you can take a taxi from the airport for about $45 plus $5 tip.

The workshop will take place on the central campus of the University of Michigan, and there are plenty of places for shopping and dining within convenient walking distance. So those staying near campus will be able to get around without a car.

Currency Exchange:

There is a currency exchange booth in the lobby of the International Terminal at Detroit Metro Airport. A limited selection of foreign currencies may be exchanged. Participants are encouraged to purchase travelers checks in U.S. dollars or to exchange money before arriving in the United States.

Parking Information:

Parking on central campus of the University is tigh. However, if you need to drive to campus, there are public parking structures located on Maynard street and on Forest street. The rates are $1.10/hour. Visitor parking is also available in the Fletcher parking structure (use the Fletcher Street entrance) at an hourly rate. Parking maps can be viewed here.
