******************************************************************** First Announcement of an International Conference: THE FUTURE OF COSMOLOGY WITH CLUSTERS OF GALAXIES 26 February - 2 March 2005 Marriott Waikoloa Beach Resort, Kona, Hawaii http://www.umich.edu/~mctp/future Sponsored by the Michigan Center for Theoretical Physics, the Kavli Center for Cosmological Physics at U Chicago, and the Institute for Astronomy at U Hawii. ******************************************************************** Mapping the emergence of clusters of galaxies over cosmic time offers an opportunity to test the nature of the dark energy and dark matter that dominate the universe and control its fate. Within the next decade, large astronomical surveys will produce cluster samples of unprecedented statistical richness. At the same time, an improved picture for the evolution of the matter components within clusters will be shaped by multi-wavelength observations from the ground and space and by increasingly sophisticated numerical simulations. This conference will mix theorists, observers, and computational modelers with the intent of defining our current level of understanding of clusters as a population, exchanging key ideas on survey design and data interpretation, and preparing a roadmap for the extraction of cosmological information from future large surveys. Targeted speakers for the conference include: S. Allen (Stanford) M. Arnaud (Saclay) S. Borgani (Trieste) J. Carlstrom (Chicago) H. Ebeling (Hawaii) R. Ellis (Caltech) V. Eke (Durham) C. Frenk (Durham) M. Gladders (Carnegie)* D. Hogg (NYU) W. Holzapfel (Berkeley)* W. Hu (Chicago) N. Kaiser (Hawaii) T. Kodama (NAO, Tokyo) A. Kravtsov (Chicago) A. Lee (Berkeley)* T. McKay (Michigan) B.
