Throughout the year, AOSS students have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the theories learned in their courses through a series of hands-on activities sponsored by the University of Michigan. In recent years, these activities have included providing weather forecasting support for the University of Michigan Solar Car Team, as well as for the Jackson Hot Air Balloon Festival. AOSS students have also participated in a number of field campaigns related to developing a better understanding of severe convective storms.
