Barika Marise Butler

Hi! I'm attending the Macy-MIM Science Camp this year and I live in Detroit, MI.

I am currently a senior at Renaissance High School where I maintain a 3.8 GPA and participate in a number of sports and extracurricular activities.

I'm thinking about attending college next year at

The University of Michigan,

Spelman College,

Michigan State University, or possibly even

Princeton University. Wherever I go, I plan to major in Biology/Pre-Med in preparation for medical school. I hope to pursue a career in the medical field as a pediatric neurosurgeon.

In school, I am a member of many different organizations, including:

Renaissance High School Symphony Orchestra
Renaissance High School Symphony Band
Renaissance High School Marching Band
Renaissance High School Dance Workshop
Renaissance HIgh School Pom-Pon Team
Renaissance High School Pep Squad
Renaissance High School Pre-Med Club, and
Phoenix Chapter of the National Honor's Society

Outside of school, I stay busy as:

Dance captain for the Detroit-Windsor Junior Dance Company
Member of the DWDA staff
A macy's scholar, and
Corresponding secretary for the AKATeen organization.

Here is some advice from me to next year's Macy-MIM participants and everyone who wants to succeed at all of his or her goals:
