COMSOL Multiphysics

To solve this problem a program called COMSOL Multiphysics has been used. COMSOL Multiphysics is a good tool when the transport phenomena, i.e. diffusion, thermal conductivity, coupled to chemical reactions are to be accounted for. The performance of a reactor might depend on mass transport characteristics and temperature distribution in the reaction, which implies that mass and heat balances are coupled. COMSOL Multiphysics enables you solve these coupled differential equations in an easy way.

COMSOL Multiphysics can display the result of the calculations as a two-dimensional plot, showing both axial and radial effects. Studying these plots can give you a great understanding of the mass transport characteristics and temperature distribution in a real reactor.
