Welcome to my mercers shop located in the heart of the Cheapside shopping district of London! My name is William Ryder and I, along with my business partner, Edward Nicklin, am at your service to answer any questions you may have. Since I see you are a newcomer to town, I'll let you in on the secrets of shopping-- our newest form of leisure entertainment. I'll tell you about mercers, milliners, haberdasheries, bookshops, and everything else you need to know to be a knowledgeable female shopper in eighteenth-century London.
