QUIPU and acl's - can anyone help??

I am having trouble understanding security in the QUIPU DSA.
When I try to bind to the directory, I get an invalid credentials error.

Does anyone know whats going on? does QUIPU run against the passwd file?
I need to specify a commonName, and I went and checked my password in the
EDB file, everything looks ok.

Are there other tests I can perform?

what I really want to do is be able to use ldapadd to update QUIPU.
