Textile Rd. swamp off State Rd., Pittsfield Twp, Washtenaw Co. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: "Bruce M. It's one of the few decent shorebird spots in the county. Also, it's been good for Black-crowned Night-Heron. A Snowy Egret was there for a while a year or two ago. Green Heron and Belted Kingfisher are dependable there, although finding them among the dead trees in the middle of the swamp isn't necessarily easy. The white and dark birds were likely Great Egret and Great Blue Heron. A spotting scope is very useful at the Textile-at-State swamp. (Does anyone know if this swamp is named?) Anyone going to this swamp should also check out the pond at the Avis Farms Business Park. It's only half a mile north.
