SECOR METROPARK, OHIO Secor Metropark is next to Irwin Prairie Preserve. Secor is on the north side of Bancroft Street and Irwin Prairie is on the south side. On the map Secor Metropark is the portion of the shaded area that extends north from Bancroft Street to Central Avenue (one mile). From the intersection of Centennial Road and Central Avenue (four miles southwest of Sylvania), go south on Centennial one mile to Bancroft Street. Turn right (west) and drive two miles to Irwin Road. Continue past Irwin Road half a mile or so to the well-marked entrance to Secor Metropark. It's on the north side of the road. Not far into the park you'll come to a parking lot on the left for the Meadowview Area. High in the tops of the oak trees near the picnic tables you may find Cerulean Warblers. We found a Barred Owl in the picnic table area. There's a mowed field at this location with habitat along the edges that looks good for some warblers and other birds (Blue-winged, Yellow, White-eyed Vireo, etc.). At the near end of the field is the entrance to a trail that I've never walked. --------------------------- Secor Metropark W.
