The walking paths are covered with wood chips and are well maintained. There are three good ways to get into the woods. All entrances are marked by a large sign. 1. main entrance -- Park at the Lutheran Church on Liberty across from Virginia. (The church is about half a mile east of W. Stadium Blvd.) Enter the Eberwhite Woods at the main entrance (on Liberty St.), which is at a corner of the woods and just west of the church parking lot. 2. Ivywood Drive entrance -- A residential neighborhood entrance is on Ivywood Drive. Turn off Liberty into Dartmoor, which is the first street south of the Lutheran church. Turn left on Ivywood Drive and follow it until it turns to the right. There, turn left instead. You are now at a short deadend piece of Ivywood Drive, and directly ahead of where you will park your car is an entrance to Eberwhite Woods. 3. via Fritz Park -- There is an entrance from the back of the grounds of Eberwhite Elementary School. Rather than to enter through the school grounds, it is best to park off Pauline across from Fritz Park (a few blocks west of Seventh). Walk to the back of Fritz Park (and do some birding on your way!) to the south side of the school grounds. The entrance to Eberwhite Woods is off the west side of the school grounds, so turn left and follow the path through the wooded strip alongside the fence and around to the entrance.
