Criteria and Guidelines for Selection

Criteria

1. The candidate shall have demonstrated significant contributions to the development of the status of women in addition to or separate from contributions undertaken as part of a specific job assignment.

2. The candidate shall have demonstrated exceptional leadership, notable scholarship or significant professional accomplishments.

3. The candidate shall be able to attend the Awards ceremony.

Guidelines

* sustained effort at the university to improve the condition of women

* sustained effort to change women's situation within the institution

* sustained effort to change women's situation in the community external to the institution

* ground breaking research that will transform the disciplinary approach to women's issues or topics

* sustained effort to change the discipline's approach to women in that discipline

* "intersectionality," i.e., work that affects many areas of concern--gender, race, class, sexuality, etc.
