XF25.TXT: ______________ Here is PC XFormer 2.5, the Public Domain Atari 800 and 800XL emulator for IBM PCs by Darek Mihocka (Branch Always Software). It requires VGA (320x200x256) graphics, a 286 or better CPU, and about 300k of free memory. It emulates an Atari 800 and 800XL, with or without BASIC. Switching BASIC on and off or switching between 800 and 800XL mode is done by a keystroke. Included in this ZIP file are: the program the documents a disk image with Atari DOS 2.5 on it a disk image with MyDOS 4.5 on it and two disk images with demos on them One has BASIC demos the other has Machine Language demos Also included are .ROM files, one containing the old 800 OS, another with the 800XL OS, and a third with BASIC. This totals 9 files. When redistributing this ZIP, please be sure all 9 files are included and left unchanged (remember, XFD and ATR disk image files change when you tell the Atari emulator to write to them!). This version is different than 2.0 in many ways: 800XL OS support, better graphics support (still no collision detection), speaker click support through a PC-speaker, ROM support, and more.. Please upload this as much as possible! :) Version 3.0 is available from Branch Always software for $30 and requires at least a 386. (Darek Mihocka, Branch Always Software, 14150 NE 20th St, Ste. 320, Bellevue, Washington 98007 USA; Voice: 208-369-5513; Fax: 206-885-5893) It includes 130XE support, 128 and 320k total memory support, sound register support (with a sound card), player/missile collisiond detection, a config. menu, better control via the command line, and a ~40 page printed manual.
