M-119 consists of a single lane (yet wide enough for most vehicles to pass at slow speeds) for most of its existence and despite newly erected brown-painted guradrails recently erected by MDOT in certain locations much of the road is lined closely with tress and other obstacles making for a primitive driving experience.  This warning sign is located near the northern end of the "highway" in Cross Village.

Sign marking the beginning of the scenic heritage route portion of M-119 known as the Tunnel of Trees seen here on southbound M-119 in Cross Village.

The following four photos along northbound M-119 west of Harbor Springs (where the single lane configuration begins) are not part of the scenic heritage route and Tunnel of Trees, yet still quite picturesque.
